Leslie Plettner’s entrepreneurial career began in education, where she designed new schools and transformed underperforming ones by focusing on the intersection of leadership, team development, culture, equity and evidenced-based decision making. Her work is prominently featured in the book, The Art of Coaching: Effective Strategies for School Transformation.
Looking for a new challenge, Leslie redirected her entrepreneurial interests and, through various companies and partnerships, developed and managed more than 500 units that stretch across most regions in the United States and include a mix of warehouse, multifamily, and retail.
In 2015, Leslie anticipated the expansion of the cannabis industry and recognized the industry’s need for professional entrepreneurs and real estate developers: She was the first cannabis licensee in a prominent Bay Area city. Leslie has been leading cannabis real estate workshops for real estate investors, appraisers, and lenders. She has been a featured speaker at a number of prominent events, including the Arcview Investor Forum, the County of Santa Clara Real Estate Institute, and the Norcal Appraisal Institute (which is the largest chapter in the United States).
